Naples Pelvic Health is an out of network, fee-for-service provider. We do, however, accept Medicare part B. Each session is a direct one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. As a small private practice, our primary goal is to provide the highest quality of care to our patients.
For commercial insurance, payment is due at the time that services are rendered, meaning you will never receive surprise medical bills. Unlike larger corporate clinics that work within constraints of insurance contracts, we choose to operate outside of these agreements to ensure we can deliver personalized, effective treatment tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Unfortunately, many insurance companies impose limitations that can hinder our ability to offer the level of care we believe you deserve.
In order to provide this level of care and attention, full payment is required at the time of service. While we understand that paying upfront may not be ideal for everyone, you will be provided with all the necessary documentation to submit claims to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

You can expect a full work-up on the lumbar spine, pelvis, and hip region. Time permitting during that first session, your abdomen will also be evaluated. Otherwise, it will be a part of your next session. We start externally and move internally. Within your comfort level, there is an internal exam of the pelvic floor for muscle tension and strength. It is no different than looking at the knee and surrounding tissues – just a different part of the body! If you are not comfortable with an internal assessment, it can be deferred until you become more at ease with your therapist. An internal assessment will never take place until you are 100% on board.

In the state of Florida, you do not need a referral for dry needling by a physical therapist for the first 30 days of being seen.
-
Dry needling is a muscle release technique that uses a non-hypodermic needle (the same as an acupuncture needle) in order to release tight muscles/trigger points in the muscle. There is no injectable during this treatment and there is no anesthesia needed. Though it can, needling does not typically comprise the entire physical therapy session. It can be used with or without electrical stimulation.

As pain is very subjective, it is difficult to determine how one will be affected. The “bell curve” of the population will typically feel discomfort that will be alleviated within a few hours to 1-2 days. This should also be accompanied by a significant decrease, if not complete alleviation of the pain that brought you to Naples Pelvic Health.
-
Yes, you will need an evaluation prior to being dry needled in order to gain insight into the appropriate areas that need treatment. There is the possibility of being dry needled within that first session (your evaluation).
-
There is a 24-hour cancellation policy in place. Please notify your therapist within that timeframe or be subject to a $200 cancellation fee. There are, of course, stipulations such as illness due to flu, extreme weather, emergencies, etc.
-
Yes, an initial physical therapy evaluation is required prior to booking a medical massage. A medical massage is manual therapy-based, meaning it helps the therapist to know where on the body to focus on and what types of techniques would be most beneficial. Unlike a general massage from a massage therapist, a medical massage can entail skin rolling, cupping, instrument-assisted soft tissue work, joint mobilizations, and more.
