Dr. LisaMarie Owens received her doctorate degree in physical therapy in 2016 from Marymount University and her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Florida in 2007, graduating cum laude. Lisa developed a special interest in pelvic floor therapy after her own personal struggles with fibroids, PCOS, infertility, and hormone imbalance. She has treated the pelvic floor since the start of her career and has taken extensive advanced coursework to expand her knowledge and skills.
She is specially trained in the use of musculoskeletal real time ultrasound imaging, surface EMG biofeedback, visceral mobilization, and is certified in trigger point dry needling. Lisa takes a holistic approach to providing care and collaborates with chiropractors, doulas, and functional medicine providers. In 2022, Lisa was recognized by the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute as a Certified Pelvic Rehab Practitioner (PRPC). She is one of only three in the southwest Florida area.
Lisa believes that more information is always better and that education can be a powerful tool for people. She is an advocate for pelvic floor health and strives to increase awareness about pelvic floor problems.
Lisa lived in the DC metro region for 17 years where she worked in one of the major hospital systems as a senior physical therapist and became a well recognized specialist for postpartum and pelvic floor issues. She has served thousands of patients in her career. Since moving to Naples in 2024, she realized that she wanted to bring her specialization and expertise to the area by founding Naples Pelvic Health.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys running, cooking, walking on the beach, and spending time with her husband, two kids, friends, and family.
